If you worked with a UMA agent to save money on your Medigap plan, you might be planning a vacation with that extra cash. But did you know that you may be missing out on a variety of additional senior travel deals?
Our team is dedicated to saving you money — and not just on your health insurance. We searched the internet to compile this senior travel savings guide. With this list, you could spread your budget a little bit further and get the most out of your retirement.
Airlines
Airline discounts for seniors are not as common as they used to be. The best and most effective way to take advantage of senior airfare discounts is to call the airline directly when booking. Your booking agent can help you find the best deal for you, plus easily book everything over the phone. Note: Most discounts are only available for specific routes and dates, and vary by airline.
Here are a few airlines that offer senior discounts:
- American Airlines: Only available on select international destinations.
- British Airways: Available to AARP members only.
- United Airlines: Available on select flights; select “Senior 65+” when booking your tickets.
- Delta Airlines: Available in certain markets (not available at delta.com).
Another way to save on flights is to be flexible in your travel dates. Luckily, this is perfect for retired individuals who have a little more wiggle room in their schedule. Flying during the week can save you big bucks on flights!

Added costs happen, whether it be from an injury, or losing your luggage, or something else. Make sure you’ll have health coverage along your route and at your destination.
